INTRODUCTION
Everywhere we turn we see numbers; on the telephone, clocks, sizes, pages, money...There is no place to escape them. We use numbers for just about everything in our lives. What was our first experience with numbers, did you remember? It was to learn counting, wasn't it. Then, our knowledge of numbers grew to adding money...
Thinking about other things in our lives in terms of numbers just seems to happen...Why does New Years Day fall on a different day of the week each year...Why 30 days in some months, 31 days in others, and let's not forget February and leap year!
Using numbers to solve problems is the best part! The more we learn about the properties of numbers, the better we become at using them. The more we learn, the more problems we should have and the more solutions we obtain, the better our understanding becomes.
So, don't be afraid to ask!
For example, I want to ask "Why can some numbers be divided by lots of numbers and others only by a few?"
